The Good Government Institute has partnered with government leaders across the United States to create a board of dedicated public servants to help spread the word of civic engagement, positive government ideas and best practices across the nation. Our board works with the Good Government Institute and the Good Government Show to help us all create and provide the government we all want.

Dave Martin

Dave Martin is the host of The Good Government Show, where he brings decades of journalism experience to uncover stories of public service done right. A former producer for CBS News and Fox News, Dave has reported from Afghanistan, covered major criminal trials in New York, and broken front-page stories for the New York Daily News on organized crime and politics. With a sharp reporter’s instinct and a passion for substance over noise, he now focuses on what government gets right—highlighting the leaders, ideas, and innovations improving communities across America.

Jim Ludlow is a co-founder of the Good Government Institute and a driving force behind its mission to elevate effective, nonpartisan public service. An entrepreneur, author, and longtime advocate for accountable governance, Jim brings a strategic vision focused on identifying what works in government and helping those ideas reach a broader audience. Through the Institute and The Good Government Show, he is committed to strengthening civic understanding, supporting public leaders, and advancing practical solutions that improve communities across the country.

David Snyder

David Snyder

David Snyder is co-founder and President of the Good Government Institute and executive producer of The Good Government Show. With a background in media, production, and civic engagement, he focuses on building platforms that elevate effective public service and connect leaders with ideas that work. An elected official in his town of Greenwich CT, David is committed to strengthening civic understanding, supporting innovation in government, and helping restore trust by showcasing results that improve communities.

Advisory Board

Cindy Axne

Currently a political consultant and strategic advisor. Prior to that, she was at the U.S. Department of Agriculture where she served as Senior Advisor for Rural Engagement, Delivery and Prosperity  in the administration of President Joe Biden. She is a former two-term congresswoman from Iowa’s 3rd District. In the House of Representatives, she was member of the Committee on Financial Services, was Vice Chair for the Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development, and Insurance and was on the Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship, and Capital Markets. She was on the Committee on Agriculture and subcomittees on Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit and Livestock and Foreign Agriculture. She was also Co-Chair, New Democrats Rural Reinvestment Task Force; Co-Chair, House Biofuels Caucus, a member of Whip’s Rural Broadband Task Force and Midwest Regional Whip House Democratic Caucus

Quentin Hart

Served as mayor of Waterloo, Iowa for 10 years where he spearheaded a major transformation of the city of Waterloo. He served nine years on the city council. Prior to that he was a college administrator for 18 years.  In 2025 he was inducted into the Iowa League of Cities Hall of Fame, the organization’s top honor. In 2024 the Iowa Mayor’s Association voted him Mayor of the Year.

Oz Nesbitt

He is currently president of Speak Up! Communications, a public relations and management consulting firm. Prior to that he was chairman and chief executive officer of Rockdale County. He was elected and re-elected to the position and served the people of Rockdale County, GA for 17-years. He is also a former police officer and he is a Deacon at his church. Oz advises all people going into public service to avoid the 3 Ugly E’s; emotions, ego entitlement. Good advice! 

Tim Fallon

Tim is currently the head of his own strategic consultancy group. He was formerly the CEO of Lehigh Valley Public Media from 2012 to 2024. That included WLVT / PBS 39 and WLVR, NPR Radio for Lehigh Valley. Prior to working in public media, he was a founding executive at several community banks. Tim has also served in leadership roles in many area non-profit organizations. He holds both a BA in Political Science and a Master of Administrative Science from Johns  Hopkins University.

Phil Armstrong

Phil is the current Executive Director of the County Executives of America. This organization brings to together some 700 county executives from around the U.S. to coordinate and support on policy, planning and sharing best practices.

Prior to becoming Executive Director, Phil was elected and re-elected as County Executive of Lehigh County, PA, one of the fastest growing regions in the state of Pennsylvania. 

Phil Brock

Phil Brock - fmr Mayor of Santa Monica - Advisory Board GGI

The former mayor of Santa Monica and a former member of the City Council, Phil Brock joins the Advisory Board. A native of Santa Monica, he served his city for over 22 years. He was a long-time member of the city’s Arts Commission, for 12 years he served as chair of the Recreation and Parks Commission and was a member of the Civic Working Group. In one article after stepping down as mayor, it was suggested he should be given the title Santa Monica Cheerleader. He created and was president of his own talent management company, STG, and was an acting instructor as well as having appeared in several movies and television shows. He currently is chair of the of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Homelessness Advisory Board. He has served on the United States Mayors Homelessness Task Force, National League of Cities and League of California Cities Public Safety Anti-Crime Advocacy committees.  He is in the Personal Managers Hall of Fame. In his spare time, he is Chair of the Santa Monica Salvation Army Advisory Board, Vice President of Santa Monica Kiwanis and an advisory board member of Steadfast LA, a foundation helping Los Angeles to rebuild after the devastating fires of 2025
